Today we are hearing from Charlotte, owner of No.43 Beauty, who trained with us back in 2022 and has been thriving since! Let’s take a look at what she has to say about her whole experience with Pinkfishes and starting her own business….

How It All Started

Hi, I’m Charlotte I’m the proud owner of No.43 Beauty! I started dabbling in eyelashes during lockdown and then decided to finally bite the bullet & book a course with Pinkfishes after really enjoying it! I qualified in August 2022 first with a Classic training course and a Russian course shortly after whilst still working in insurance doing a typical 9-5.  

Why I Chose Pinkfishes

There are a number of reasons why I chose Pinkfishes to do my training courses. Firstly, the support system they have is incredible. Not only on the day as a beginner, but the ongoing support you have after including mentoring & refresher sessions. Secondly, they keep the classes small, so you have more of a personalised experience and don’t feel rushed or overwhelmed. I loved this – when I had my training day there was only 2 of us. So we really had that attention to detail and could ask any question big or small.

It didn’t take me long after the course to start my Instagram – that’s what started No.43 Beauty! Since then, I’ve qualified in Eyebrow Shaping & Tinting, Brow Lamination & Lash Lift & Tint all with the help of Pinkfishes! It soon turned into a passion. Then by April 2024 it became my full-time job, which I’m absolutely delighted to call my own. 

When you first start it can be very daunting as you don’t have anyone there to guide you, however with the training course you receive a manual – so being able to constantly check this helped me a lot! I used to find it so hard to map a client’s eye as everyone’s eye shape is completely different, but with a Pinkfishes mentoring session this quickly became a thing I loved. I am now able to personalise everyone’s lash experience and make it a luxury service. 

Advice to a Newbie

One thing I would say to anyone looking to get into the world of lashes is to have patience. There were many times I wanted to give up. Not because I didn’t like it, but because I would become easily frustrated with constantly clock watching. So definitely be kind to yourself and have more patience. It took me 4 hours to do my first ever set of Russian lashes and boy they were something else. Now it takes me half that amount of time.

Consistency is key.

Charlotte has been on an incredible journey since she first trained with us. It is so amazing to see her business thrive. In the same way we love seeing all of our students set up their own ventures and watching them thrive.
