What we offer at Pinkfishes
Here at Pinkfishes, we believe that in-person training is the best way to learn all the skills you need to become a competent and confident beauty technician, and so all our training courses are in-person at our fully equipped training academy in Chelmsford, Essex. But let’s take a look as we explore the benefits of both online and in-person training within the beauty industry.
Benefits of online training
- Convenience: With online training you are able to fit it around your schedule a little easier. You can usually watch videos in the comfort of your own home, not having to travel to a venue.
- Cost Effective: Most of the time online training courses are less money than in-person training. This is due to the fact there are no overheads or tutor time to cover. There are also no travel or accommodation costs to consider.
- Self-Paced Learning: learning in your own time at home means that there is no pressure to keep up with the rest of the class. You can also revisit certain lessons as often as you need to before moving on if there is a particular part you are struggling with.

Where do we start…
Hands on experience
We have a strong, experienced and friendly training team here at Pinkfishes who all love to pass on their knowledge and experiences of being a lash/brow technician to our students. Our trainers ensure to create a relaxed atmosphere where all students feel comfortable and can access the learning.
Fully equipped training academy
We love to welcome our students into our beautiful and clean training academy. It is a calming environment with everything you need to complete one of our courses, such as, a bed, trolly, light, mannequin head, lashes, tints and lots more of our products to try!
Intimate classes
Our class sizes are always a maximum of 5 students, meaning that all our students get lots of one-to-one time with the trainer throughout the day. This gives them valuable time to ask questions and for the trainer to watch and give bespoke feedback and guidance to each individual student.
Live models
After learning the theory and how to carry out the treatment, all our courses include time for students to practise what they have learnt on live models. We ask students to arrange a model for the day of their course who will be patch tested before hand. If anyone struggles to find one, we can arrange one for you. Practicing on a live model, under the trainer’s watch, will massively boost your confidence. You will know exactly what to expect and have experience with potential issues before going home to complete your case studies.
Kits
Most of the courses we offer at Pinkfishes include a kit that will enable students to complete their case studies and their first few clients too.
Lunch included
There is a free lunch included with our courses. The trainer will give you a menu at the beginning of the day and order it to be ready in time for lunch.
Social
The vibes on a training course day are the BEST! The day is always full of fun and laughter with the trainer’s main aim being that all students feel at ease. Our students really enjoy getting to know each other on the course day, sharing experiences of the beauty industry if they are already in it or talking about how they are going to start their new venture into the world of beauty!

So… what’s the verdict?
It’s clear that the benefits of in-person training outweigh those of online training! We understand that life is busy and sometimes it may be difficult to find the time to attend a day of in-person training around work, family and other commitments but we promise you, it is worth it! We have worked hard to provide the BEST training for our students which will leave them feeling excited and confident to give their clients the best possible treatments and experience with them as a professional beauty technician.
What to expect after the course day?
- Qualification: With some of our courses it is possible to pass on the day of the course if there has been enough practical experience and the trainer is happy with the student’s work on their live model. With our other courses such as our Classic and Russian lash training courses, the trainers will set the students case studies to complete in their own time at home. We like our students to take it at their own pace, however, we encourage our students to keep practising after their course whilst everything is still fresh in their mind. But there is no time limit on completing the case studies, so we make sure our students know we are always here for when they are ready to complete the course.
- Feedback: We ask our students to send their case studies individually so that the trainers can give them constructive feedback for each treatment they have completed to guide them for the next. This means that they are continuously improving on every set they complete.
- Certification: If a student passes on the day of the course, their trainer will give them their certificate to take home with them. Alternatively, once the trainer is happy with the case studies and if the student is feeling fully confident, we will post their certificate directly to them ready to display with pride in their salon or home beauty space.
Is there any support after students have qualified?
- Lifetime support: All of our students receive lifetime support from the Pinkfishes team and we are always here to help and love to see our students thrive! We have a very knowledgeable team that are always on hand in the office to answer any questions you have, or advice you may need.
- Free in-person mentoring: Our courses include free in-person mentoring should any students need more support in the future. This can be used to help pass your case studies after your course, to help kick any bad habits you may have picked up after qualifying, or even for a bit of reassurance when you’ve been in the industry for a while.
- Online support: Pinkfishes provides lot of support on our website including online masterclasses to help you refresh skills learnt on the course and new techniques to add to your services, blog posts, podcasts and FAQs. Our socials and friendly support groups that students are invited to be a part of are also really useful to help after becoming a qualified beauty technician.
